What is Eucharistic Adoration?
This is when the Blessed Sacrament (God) is exposed in a monstrance on the altar. It is a unique, holy time when people can come and adore him.
When is Eucharistic Adoration?
Our parish has Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesdays from 8:30 am (right after daily Mass) until 9 pm.
What do I do during Eucharistic Adoration?
This is completely up to you. You are in the presence of the Almighty God, who loves you more than you can imagine. Perhaps start by being quiet and opening your heart. You could thank him for the blessings in your life. You could ask him for what you need. You could lay your problems before him. You could pray.
What is a holy hour?
You spend This hour with God in the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic Adoration.
Do I need a holy hour?
YES! Eucharistic Adoration is for EVERYONE, regardless of age. Everyone can benefit from spending time with the Lord. You deepen your relationship with him and grow in love. This love spreads out to your family, friends, and co-workers.
Do I have to stay an hour?
No, you can stay as long as you want and are welcome even if you are not on schedule. However, in the bible, remember that Jesus asked his disciples to stay awake with him for an hour in the garden of Gethsemane.
Why is there a schedule on the podium during Eucharistic Adoration?
This is a schedule of committed “adorers” signed up to be there at a particular time each week. They initial next to their name so the coordinator knows they were there. On the second page of the schedule, you may sign your name on the list.
What if I sign up for an hour but get sick and can’t go?
Call or text the Eucharistic coordinator and she will find you a substitute or contact the other adorers so that our Lord is NEVER left alone during Eucharistic Adoration. We always try to always have at least two people in the church.
How many people are committed Adorers?
Forty-three people are on the schedule and come weekly.
How do I sign up for an hour?
Email, call, or text the Eucharistic Adoration coordinator. She can answer any questions not covered above.
